Season 2022 – AFL R14 and NRL R15 Attendance updates

AFL

Round 14 of the 2022 AFL season was attended by 163,711 at an average of 27,285 per game. The 2022 AFL season has been attended by 3.611m people at an average of 30,854 per match – up 17% on 2021, down 14% on 2019 (and down 19% on the heady days of 2008)

The 2022 AFL season has the lowest non COVID affected (arguably) season average attendance since 1996.

NRL

Round 15 of the 2022 NRL season was attended by 105,981 people at an average of 13,248 per game. The 2022 NRL season has so far been attended by 1.721m people at ana verage of 14,839 per match – down 1.7% on 2021 and 1.3% on 2019. (and down 10% on the heady days of 2013).

The 2022 NRL season has the lowest non COVID affected (arguably) season average since 2004. With the Warriors factored in, theres not much in it, really. Averages are out about 1700 per game since 2013 (as opposed to the AFL being down 7,000 per game since 2008)
