Channel 10 to show Australian Grand Prix and MotoGP on Free to air in Foxtel deal.

TV Blackbox reports Channel 10 has negotiated a new multi-year agreement with the Foxtel Group that will see the network continue as the free-to-air home of the Australian Formula One Grand Prix and the Australian MotoGP races.

While Foxtel had negotiated exclusive rights to both series, Australian antisphoning law requires the Australian Grand Prix in both categories to be offered to Free to air television.

Formula 1

In March, Foxtel confirmed it had extended its rights deal with the Formula 1 through to 2026, believed to be worth between $40 million and $45 million a year, and gives Foxtel and Kayo live broadcast rights to every practice session, qualifying session and race

Foxtel will also integrate the F1TV app into its iQ boxes, and all F1TV app content will be available to Kayo subscribers.

The F1TV app will be available to Foxtel subscribers for free from early next year and will include entertainment shows including technical analysis and live paddock interviews, F1 documentaries, short-form features, past event highlights and archives.

Moto GP and WorldSBK

In August 2021, Moto Gp announced a five-year contract extension with the Foxtel Group that will see MotoGP™ shown exclusively on Foxtel and Kayo in Australia from 2022 onwards. WorldSBK also confirmed the Foxtel Group as the home of WorldSBK in Australia from 2023 until 2026.
