Friday Attendance and TV Ratings – May 10th, 2024

A rare double header fixture for the AFL on a friday night saw an average audience of 691,000 watch Sevens AFL coverage on free to air television. The combined coverage reached a season high 2.383m viewers.

Sevens Friday night coverage has an average audience of 626,000 for the season, while the average reach on a Friday night is 1.805 million viewers.

In Geelong, the Cats attracted 29,942 to GMBHA Stadium, while over in Perth, the Dockers took in 46,198 for their game against the Swans at Optus Stadium.

The Cats now have an average attendance of 47,775 for the season and 33,496 at Kardinia Park. The Dockers average 45,386 for the season at Optus Stadium. The AFL averages a 52,037 attendance on Friday nights.

A-league Finals

Sydney saw 13,813 attend its semi final against the Mariners at Allianz Stadium. Ratings are unavailable for this match.


Friday saw the Dolphins take on the Sea Eagles at Suncorp Stadium in front of 14,059, and at Commbank Stadium 17,393 saw the Eels clash with the Broncos.

The Dolphins now average 19,326 for the season, and 21,655 at Suncorp Stadium. The Eels average 20,176 for the season and 21,992 at Commbank Stadium.

The Eels/Broncos clash was watched by 571,000 on Nine, including 59,000 on BVOD. The match had a reach of 1.316 million,

Nines Friday night coverage averages 562,000 for the season, and has an average reach of 1.318 million viewers.
