Round 2 of the 2024 AFL Season was attended by 293,185 at an average of 36,648 per match. (55% capacity). This is down 21% on Round 2 last year.

The first three rounds of the 2024 season have been attended by 823,290 at am average of 39,204 (65% capacity). This is down 5.9% on the first three rounds of 2023.

The 21 game 2024 season average is down 7.05% on the first 21 games of 2023.

NRL

Round 3 of the 2024 NRL season was attended by 154,454 at an average of 19,307 per match (77% capacity). This is up 4.5% on Round 3, 2023.

The 2024 season has been attended by 493,141 at an average of 20,548. This is up 11% on the first three rounds of 2024.

If you use the alternate method of including both Allegiant crowd, then its 531,994 at an average of 22,166, up 20% on the first three rounds of 2023.

With 493,141 attendees over the first 3 rounds at an average of 20,548, this is the best start to the NRL season ever in both aggregate and average attendance, beating the 2008 aggregate and the 2006 average. This is the first time ever that the league has averaged over 20,000 after round 3. These figures only get better if you used the alternative figures for Vegas

Thirteen (or 14 if you prefer) matches this NRL season have exceeded 20,000 in attendance – by far the most in the first 3 rounds of the season ever.
