Saturday Crowds and TV – June 1, 2024 – AFL, NRL, Super Rugby, Horse Racing, French Open

After a hectic Friday nights sport, Saturday returned to a more regular programming with three AFL games (due to the bye rounds), 2 NRL games (due to Origin next week) and Super Rugby.

AFL

In Melbourne, the Hawks hosted the Crows in front of of 36,086 at the MCG, while over in the West, 47,526 attended the Eagles clash with the Saints at Optus Stadium. 31,714 finished off the day seeing the Cats take on the Tigers at GMHBA Stadium.

Saturday night AFL rated 527,000 on the Seven Network, reaching an audience of 1.548 million. Saturday afternoon coverage rated 169,000 in Adelaide and Perth, with a reach audience of 429,000.

NRL

In Sydney, the Panthers had just 12,025 turn out for their match against the Sharks at Bluebet stadium, further North, 10,024 people turned up to see the Dolphins take on the Raiders at Kayo Stadium.

The NRL was shown exclusively on Foxtel, which this year has provided no overnight data.

Super Rugby

No crowd information is currently available for the Force and Brumbies match at HBF Park in Perth. No ratings are available for the Nine coverage at this time.

Horse Racing

Sevens coverage of the horseracing had an average audience of 121,000 and a reach of 778,000

French Open

Nines coverage of the tennis from Roland Garros attracted an average audience of 117,000 and a reach of 623,000 for the night session.
